POPULAR's FLAGSHIP PROJECT:
As its name suggests, POPULAR strives to tear down the figurative
"Wall Of Poverty" by helping safeguard justice and the rule of law in
America. For Americans, the "rule of law" holds the promise of due
process, fair hearings, equal protection, and justice - - even for
unpopular people, in unpopular cases, and unpopular causes. Yet
an integral part of POPULAR's work is addressing retribution, too
often visited upon people seeking justice.
What many may not realize is that law school graduates seeking
bar admission and legal professionals (including lawyers, judges,
and court administrators) are very susceptible to retaliation for
supporting POPULAR's work and mission. By providing your
electronic signature, you help: (1). an international campaign to
protect these particularly vulnerable supporters; (2). display
community support for POPULAR's general mission; and (3). tear
down the Wall Of Poverty.

Those who suffer injustice know it is dark, surreal, and
frightening; world devoid of guidance, place markers,
or stepping stones. In POPULAR we are like blinded
people, able to move and linked by joining hands and
experience. The more faith we show in each other, the
stronger we become and can overcome the darkness.
We are the candles in the darkness.

POPULAR's Holistic Approach to Grassroots Advocacy:
When legal systems seem to break down, leaving poor and other disadvantaged groups
particularly vulnerable to abuses of power, POPULAR helps move them towards effective self-help
through a unique blend of corporate problem solving strategies and old fashioned, grassroots
advocacy. Yet progress can be hindered by community dysfunction akin to a post-traumatic stress
disorder among people long plagued by social injustice.
